Słomka (pronounced Swomka)

The word słomka means "hay".

This family is connected by a marriage between Kaspar Szocinski and Antonina Słomka  in Gniezno in 1874. Antonina Słomka was born on 12 May 1856, the daughter of Jan Słomka and Marianna Nowak from Dziekanowice, just west of Gniezno. Jan Słomka was listed as tabernotor or innkeeper.

    1. Marcianna Słomka, born 18 Dec 1842 in Woźniki.
    2. Walenty Słomka, born 25 Jan 1844 in Woźniki. He married Teofila Wize on 22 Sep 1867. Thez had one child, Józef Słomka born 30 Nov 1867 in Dziekanowice. It appears that Teofila died and Walenty married Józefa Małkowiak in Węglowo parish in 1871. They had these children in Dziekanowice:
      1. Bronisława Słomka born 17 Aug 1875.
      2. Marcianna Słomka born 10 Oct 1878. She married Franciszek Budzynski in Dziekanowice in 1899.
      3. Piotr Słomka born 2 Mar 1890.
