Michigan - Nalipinski/Nalepinski Families

From my records extracted from Kcynia parish, these were the children born to Tadeusz Nalepinski and Małgorżata Gruszczynska married in Grocholin, parish of Kcynia on 17 XI 1817:

  1. Catherine Barbara Nalepinski, born 3 X 1820

  2. Magdalena Nalepinski, 20 VI 1823

  3. Konstancia Nalepinski, born circa 1828. Married Joseph Lackner 31 X 1852 in Miaszkowo, parish of Kcynia.

  4. Michael Nalepinski, born 27 IX 1830

  5. Rozalia Ludwika Nalepinski, born 7 VIII 1833

  6. Tekla Nalepinski, born 21 IX, 1836, died 22 IX 1836.

  7. Hipolit Cassianus Nalepinski, born 13 VIII, 1837. Died Feb 12 1906 in Manistee Michigan, USA. He was listed as married farmer and the informant was Tekla Nalepinski, his wife.


Incidentally, Leopold is another way of spelling Hipolit in English


On the 1880 US Census for Manistee, Michigan, under the last name Nolepinski, Leo was listed with his family:

On the 1900 US Census for Michigan, an Ida Nalepinski, is listed as a servant in the Manistee county Alms House in Manistee Michigan.. She was born in Michigan in March 1877 of Polish German parents.

On the 1910 US census for Michigan, this family is listed at 1421 Dearborn Avenue in Chicago Thomas Crittenden, 31, born in Illinois, his wife Ida, 31, born in Michigan, and their child Helen, 1/2, born in Illinois. Also listed with them are:

  1. Eva T Nalipinski, sister in law (of Ida), 25, born in Michigan, waitresses at Boston Annex.

  2. Apolonia Nalipinski, sister in law, 35, born in Michigan, saleslady at Boston.

On the 1920 US census for Illinois, this family is listed at # 12 Plato Street in Chicago. John Crittenden 42, and his daughter Helen, 10. Also at this address as a lodger is Mollie Nalipinski, 42, single, a saleslady at a department store.

1920 U.S. Census of Michigan, John Nalepinski, 36, born in Michigan and his wife Rose, 34, and daughter Evelyn, 4, living at 164 Harrison Street in Manistee Michigan.

1930 U.S. Census of Michigan, John Nalepinski, 47, clerk at a feed store, born in Michigan and his wife Rose, 44, and daughter Evelyn T., 14, living at 164 Harrison Street in Manistee Michigan.

1930 U.S. Census of Michigan, Todd J. Nalepinski, 39, delivery man at a feed store, born in Michigan, his brother Stanley Nalipinski, 58, single, delivery man at a feed store, and his sister Ida Critenden 53, widow,  living at 197 Washington Street in Manistee Michigan.

Evelyn Nalipinski born 25 Aug 1915, died 12 May 1992 in Manistee Michigan.

This Leo Nalepinski was the son of Franciszek Nalepinski  and Katherine Czerwinski, born 30 X 1861 in Kcynia. He had relatives in Chicago and Milwaukee. He married Teodosia Styburska on 11 Nov 1895 in St. Hedwig parish in Chicago.

1920 U.S. Census of Illinois, Leo and Tillie Nalepinski are living on 1934 West 35th Street in Chicago with:

  1. Thomas F, 22, born in Illinois. He was a book-keeper at a wholesale grocer.

  2. Michael, 18, born in Michigan

  3. Josephine, 10, born in Illinois.
