My ancestor was Stanislawa Broniaczyk. She was born in 1873 Gutowo Male near Wrzesnia, Poland. 

Stanislawa Broniaczyk's parents were Bartlomiej Broniarczyk and Marianna Nowak. They had several children:

  1. Katarzyna Broniarczyk, born 1863 in the village of Chociczka in the parish of Września. Married Mateusz Sochacki from Biechowo in the village of Lipie, Miloslaw parish, Wrzesnia, Poland on 2 Oct 1880. Immigrated to Chicago.
  2. Andreas Broniarczyk, born and died in 1865  in the village of Chociczka in the parish of Września.
  3. Marcin Broniarczyk, born 1866 and died in 1867 in the village of Chociczka in the parish of Września.
  4. Agnieszka Broniarczyk, born Dec 20, 1867 in the village of Goniczka, Staw parish. Married Antoni Skrzypisnki 07 Feb 1886 in the village of Lipie, Miloslaw parish, Wrzesnia, Poland. Immigrated to Chicago.
  5. Hedwig Broniarcyzk, born Oct 3 1870  in the village of Goniczka, Staw parish.
  6. Stanislawa Broniarczyk, born 1873 in Gutowa Małe in the parish of  Wrzesnia. Immigratee with her parents to Chicago in 1887. Stanislawa Broniarczyk's first husband was Franciszek Konieczny. They were married in the parish of St. Stanislaw Koska in Chicago on 4 Aug 1891. Walenty Konieczny and Stanislawa Broniarczyk had two children in this parish. Walenty Konieczny met at tragic end.  He was killed by a train on October 28th, 1894. The Cook County death certificate said this: “...he came to his death from shock and injuries accidentally received caused by being struck and killed by engine # 41 hauling passenger train no. 34 belonging to the Chicago Burlington and Quincy R.R. at Hawthorne Street crossing of the tracks, October 28th, 1894 about 2:10 PM.”  He was 29. According to his granddaughter Dorothy Wegner, he was allegedly picking up coal that fell out along the tracks so he could heat his house. They had two children: 1) Frank Konieczny (changed his name to Koenig and moved to Wisconsin), 2) Bronislawa (Bertha) Konieczny. Stanislawa Broniarczyk's second husband was Jozef Szocinski. They were married in the parish of St. Michael's parish in South Chicago on 5 Nov 1895/
  7. Joseph Broniarczyk, born 27 Feb 1876 in the parish of Biechowo. This child apparently did not survive. Godparents were Laurentis Skrzypinski de Saleczwo and Agata Broniarczyk de Chwalk.
  8. Maria Broniarczyk, born about 1880. married Dominik Larkowski on 22 Nov 1898 St. John Cantius, Chicago

Bartlomiej Broniarczyk was born illegitimately around 1840 to Anastasia Broniarczyk. When he married Mary Nowak in the parish of Tagowa Gorka in 1863, he listed his place of origin as Chocziczka. His occupation was listed as ruralis mercenarius (farm worker). He also used the name Broniarski. Mary Nowak was born in the village of Chlebowo in the parish of Czeszewo, Wrzesnia on  5 October 1841, born to Pawel Nowak Jozefa Cechner. Her godmother was Margaretha Cechner. On 10 Nov 1839, there was a marriage in the village of Budzillowa, parish of Kolaczkowo, of Paul Nowak 23 and Sophia Cychner, 20. Record #128. Witness was Adalbert Cychner de Gorzynski. They had a son Valentine Nowak born in this parish in the village of Borczykowo on 5 Jan 1840. In this record Paul Nowak's wife was listed as Josepha Zehner. On 4 Apr 1841 there was a death in Borzykowo of Martin Zehner, 63, operanus, husband of Marianna. Among other surviving children was a Josepha born about 1817.

The family lived in Chocziczka and Bartlomeij worked as an Auriga (driver). Sometime between 1866 and 1873, the family moved to Gutowo Male. Sometime between 1874 and 1880, the family moved further south to the village of Lipie in the parish of Miloslaw.

Bartlomiej Broniarczyk and Marianna Nowak immigrated with two of their children, Stanislawa and Marianna on April 19th, 1887 aboard the SS Donau . Bartlomiej Broniarczyk died in Chicago as a member of St. Stanislaw Koska parish on 16 July 1887 and died with about 100 hundred people from heatstroke that same weekend. Mary Broniarczyk remarried Jan Swierszcz on 6 May 1889 at St. Stanislaw Koska.

Michal Broniarczyk married Agata Nowak on 5 Nov 1865 in Chociczka, the same small village that Bartlomiej lived in from at least 1863-1867. Their children were:

  1. Adalbert (Wojciech), born in Chociczka in 1866. His godfather was Bartlomeij Broniarczyk.Married Rozalia Gork in 20 Oct 1888 in Nekla Parish, just east of Wrzesnia. Had one child, Franciszka born in 1889 in the town of Libertowo in the parish of Gostrzyn. Adalbert and Rozalia migrated to Chicago in 1891. On the 1910 census, they were living at 844 Noble Street in Chicago with their children Mary (b.1892), Adam (b. 1912) and Joseph (b. 1904). Living their was also their daughter Francis (Franciszka) and Valentine (Walenty) Malecki. In 1930, Adam was listed as Adam Bromiarczyk living with his sister Francis Malecki on 3729 Oakdale Avenue in Chicago. Also in 1930 Joseph Broniarczyk (indexed as Broniarezyk) was living with his wife Lillian and son Robert (b. 1926) at 1924 Karlov Avenue in Chicago.

  2. Walenty (Valentine), born in Chociczka in 1869.

  3. Ludovicus (Louis), born in Zawodzie  in 1873.

  4. Joseph, born in Zawodzie  in 1874. Marianna Broniarska (wife of Bartlomeij) from Gutowo was the Godmother.

  5. Jan, born 1877. Immigrated to Chicago in 1892. Married Pelagia Rochowiak 18 Oct 1898 in St. John Cantius in Chicago. In 1900, Jan, Pelagia and their son Leon lived on 93 Front Street in the Westtown neighborhood of Chicago.

  6. Franciszek, born about 1884. Married Anna Gerty 7 Nov1907  in St. John Cantius in Chicago.

  7. Stanislaw, born 1890 in Guty, Poznan. Married Josepha Dziewiecka on 2 June 1912 in St. Hyacinth (Jacek) in Chicago.

 

Michal Broniarczyk died in Chicago on17 June 1909. The obituary listed his wife, Agata [nee Nowak], sons Wojciech, Jan, Ludwik, and Stanislaw, and his daughters in law, Rozalia [Gorka], Pelagia [Rochowiak] and Anna [Gerty], and grandchildren.

 Michal Bronarczyk's wife Agatha was living with her son Louis on 1228 West Chicago Ave in 1920. Also Living at that address was he other son John J. Broniarczyk, his wife Pearl (Pelagia) and their children, Leo (b. 1900) Lottie (b. 1901) and Bertha (b. 1905). Also living their was another son Stanley Broniarczyk and his wife Alma.
