The earliest records of the Konozas in Polkowo date back to records date back to an original grant of 5 Włoks (about 40 acres) in 1582 by the starost of Tajenski Marcin Dulski and and confirmed by Queen Anna’s privilege of 1585. Soon after the grant was given, i.e. on February 18, 1587, the same late well-born Marcin Dulski, Rajgrod starost carefully described the borders of the grounds granted to Marek Konoza and entered this description in Tykocin land records Individuae Trinitatis in 1626, the same was also entered in 1660 Inventory by the surveyors, who were designated by the power of 1659 constitution to perform inventories of crown lands.

On January 1710 Wawrzyniec Konoza from Polkowo, Tomasz Orbik from
Tajno, and other village leaders appeared in the court in Goniadz to appeal
for reimbursement for grain and other items “requistionsed” by the Polish Army
stationed in Tajno from 23 Jan 1710 till 26 June 1710. Shortly
thereafter, the plague, being carried by the armies, killed most of the
inhabitants of Tajno and surroundinding villages, including Tomasz Orbik and his
family. Luckily the remote location of Polkowo in the marshlands spared it from
much destruction. Archiwum Potockich z Radzyni in AGAD, call
